BlockQuote is traditionally used across every website on the internet. It is generally used to display popular quotes and sayings with the name of the quote author.

Pro tip
While everyone uses BlockQuotes for showing quotes/sayings, you can twist it and use it for showing a testimonial from a client or an achievement you want to highlight.

How to use the BlockQuote Widget of The Plus Addons For Elementor

The BlockQuote comes with two different styles i.e. Style 1 and Style 2 (Includes Author Name). Let’s understand how to use this widget in the tutorial below.

General Steps

Search for the BlockQuote widget from the Elementor screen in the left and then drag and drop it into the content building area. After dropping the widget, you will see three tabs i.e. Content, Style, and Advanced related to the BlockQuote widget. First, click on the Content tab.

1. Content

BlockQuote

In the Content tab, you get two styles to select from. Choose any one style based on your preference.

Style

We have provided two styles i.e. Style 1 and Style 2 to choose from. The only difference between them is that Style 2 includes author name whereas Style 1 doesn’t.

Quote Description

Add your quote content here. You can easily format the content using the WYSIWYG Editor.

Alignment

Next, you have to set the alignment of your content. You can align it to the left, right, center, or justify.

Open BlockQuote setting in the BlockQuote element widget.

2. Style

Typography

Set your your typography options by clicking the edit icon. You can set your font family, font weight, font size, and other related cosmetic options.

Normal


Text Color
Insert text color using the color picker option.

Padding
Insert padding for the blockquote widget.

Margin
Insert margin for the blockquote widget.

Hover

Just like you set the options for the Normal state, follow the same for the Hover state.

Background Options

Box Border

Click on the toggle button to show or hide the box border. If you want to add the box border, you can select any border style such as solid, dashed, dotted, etc. from the dropdown. You can also set the Box Border color using the color picker. Also, if you want to set the border radius, you can do it so.

Background Options


The Background Options gives you the ability to add an image in the background of the BlockQuote. It also gives the option to add a normal color or gradient to the background. Background Options are a common option for almost all widgets.

Box Shadow Options


The Box Shadow Options gives you the ability to add a shadow around the BlockQuote. These options are a common option for almost all widgets. So, we have written a detailed tutorial on how to customize your widgets in the Style tab.
