The Protected Content Widget is mainly used to hide any private documents or media by setting a password so that it is accessible only to the users who know the password.

This widget also hides the content based on user roles. For eg: if you want to show a coupon code on your website to a user with a role customer, you can do that with this widget.

Pro tip
Create a page and a hide a coupon / discount code behind it. Share this page with a specific group of people and give them the password to open it.

How to use the Protected Content Widget of The Plus Addons For Elementor

The Protected Content widget is very easy to set up and use to hide private content. Let’s understand how to use this widget in the tutorial below.

General Steps

Search for the Protected Content Widget widget from the Elementor screen in the left and then drag and drop it into the content building area. After dropping the element, you will see three tabs i.e. Content, Style, and Advanced related to this widget. First, click on the Content tab.

We have provided you with two options to choose from i.e Content and Page Template.

Protected Content

This is the content that you want to be protected.

Protection Type

Protection Type

Set your protection type here. You can set it to following option based on your preference.
User Role: Set a user role from which the content should be hidden. This throws an error message “You do not have the permission to view this content”.

Single and Multiple Passwords: Set a single or multiple passwords to protect your content.

Show Content

Enable this to show the content.

Message

Message Source

Select the message source here. It can be a custom Message or Elementor Template.

Text

Add your custom message. For eg: “You do not have the permission to view this content.”

From Text

Input Text

Insert the input text field over here.

Button Text

Change the button text over here.

Error Message

Error Message

Change the validation error message over here.

The Style tab is used for customizing the appearance of all the Protected Content widget components.

Message

This option lets you set all the cosmetic options such as paddings, margins, background, border, color, box shadow etc.

Form Input

Submit Button

This option lets you set all the cosmetic options such as paddings, margins, background, border, color, box shadow etc.

Error Message

This option lets you set all the cosmetic options such as paddings, margins, background, border, color, box shadow etc.

Front Content

This option lets you set all the cosmetic options such as paddings, margins, background, border, color, box shadow etc.

Protected Content
